Appliances we take

The new one is being delivered and the store will not take the old one. Or the old one died months ago and is still sitting in the garage. Either way, an appliance is too heavy for most people to move safely, and it will not fit in a car. We carry it out and haul it off.

  • Refrigerators, standalone freezers and wine coolers
  • Washers and dryers, stacked or side by side
  • Electric stoves, ranges and wall ovens that are already disconnected
  • Dishwashers and microwaves
  • Window and portable air conditioning units
  • Small appliances by the box: toasters, vacuums, fans and the rest

Disconnect first, then we haul

Rapid Haul removes appliances. We do not do plumbing, gas or electrical work. Before the crew arrives, the appliance needs to be unplugged and disconnected from anything it is hooked into.

For most homes that is simple. Unplug the fridge, shut off the washer's water valves and pull the hoses, unplug the dryer. A gas stove or gas dryer must be disconnected by a qualified professional, and the line capped, before we come. The same goes for any hardwired appliance. If you are not sure whether yours is ready, send Dany a photo of the back and he will tell you.

Refrigerator removal

Refrigerators are the most common appliance pickup and the heaviest. Empty it the day before and leave the doors open so it can dry out. Food left in a dead fridge in South Florida heat gets bad quickly, so if it has been sitting a while, clear it out and bag the food for the trash before the crew arrives.

Side-by-side and French-door fridges are wide. The crew may take the doors off to get it through the kitchen doorway, the same way the delivery team got it in, and we take care with your floors and door frames on the way out.

What moves the price

Appliance removal starts at $100 for one standard appliance in an easy spot, like a washer in a ground-floor laundry room. The flat price goes up with more units, bigger units like a commercial-size fridge, and harder carries like a second floor with no elevator or a long walk from parking in a condo complex.

The price includes labor, loading, hauling and disposal. Add other junk to the same trip, like an old mattress or boxes in the garage, and Dany prices it all as one job. You pay after the appliance is gone.

Building and HOA rules

In Broward and Miami-Dade condos, moving a fridge or washer often means booking the service elevator and staying inside set hours. Check with management before you book. If they ask for proof of insurance, Rapid Haul carries $1M general liability.

City bulk pickup programs often handle appliances on a separate schedule or by appointment, and some have rules about what can go out to the curb. If you need it gone now, or you cannot get it to the curb, call us.

Kitchen remodels, rentals and appliance swaps

A lot of appliance pickups are part of something bigger. A landlord replaces the fridge and stove between tenants. A homeowner is redoing the kitchen and the whole set has to go before the cabinets come out. A flipper buys a house with a dead washer, a rusty dryer and a freezer nobody has opened in years.

If you are remodeling, Dany can take the old appliances in the same visit as the kitchen tear-out (interior demolition, non-structural), so you are not booking two crews. If it is a rental turnover, one photo of each appliance is enough for a flat price, and you can meet the crew at the unit or send them the lockbox code. One customer wrote that the crew was "quick with the quote, fairly priced" (Kristy K.). That is the goal on every appliance call: a fast answer, a fair number, and the old unit gone without a fight.

How the job runs, step by step

  1. Step 1

    Check it is disconnected

The crew confirms the appliance is unplugged, the water is off and any gas line has already been capped by a pro.

  2. Step 2

    Strap and wheel it out

We strap the appliance, take off doors if needed, and wheel it out carefully, protecting floors and frames along the way.

  3. Step 3

    Haul to disposal

The appliance goes on the truck and to proper disposal. That is already in your price.

  4. Step 4

    Sweep the empty spot

There is always dust and lint behind a fridge or dryer. We sweep it up, then you pay.

Appliance Removal: common questions

Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.

What should I do with my old appliances?

If it still works, a friend or neighbor may want it. If not, text Dany a photo and he will haul it away for one flat price, starting at $100, with disposal included.

How much does it cost to remove a refrigerator?

Appliance removal starts at $100. A very large fridge or a hard carry costs more. Dany gives you the exact price after a photo.

Do you disconnect the appliance?

No. Unplug it and turn off the water before we come. Gas and hardwired appliances must be disconnected by a qualified professional first, and the line capped.

Can you pick up a washer and dryer the same day?

Often, yes, when you call or text early in the day. Make sure the hoses are off, the water is shut and the dryer is unplugged before the crew arrives.

Do I need to bring it to the curb?

No. We take it from wherever it sits now: the kitchen, the laundry room, the garage or the back patio.

When do I pay?

After the job, once the appliance is out and the spot is swept. Appliance removal is paid after, not before.
