Junk removal in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea condos and beach homes
Condo cleanouts, flooring tear-outs and junk removal in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Town bulk comes once a month; Dany can come sooner with one flat price.
01Waste Pro bulk pickup, once a month
Waste Pro collects for the town: weekly trash, recycling and yard waste, plus curbside bulk once a month. The town's posted 2025 schedule puts bulk on the first Thursday of the month south of Commercial Boulevard, and in a defined area north of Commercial between N. Tradewinds Avenue and Commercial. Everyone else north of Commercial gets the first Friday. The 2026 schedule was not posted when we checked, so confirm your day with Waste Pro at 954-282-6800.
Bulk goes on the swale no earlier than the night before and by 7 a.m. on pickup day. Anything behind the front property line is not collected. How much you get depends on the property:
- Single-family homes and duplexes: pile size is undefined, with one free pickup per calendar year, scheduled by calling Waste Pro
- Multi-family cart properties: one free pickup a year, requested in writing on official letterhead
- Mixed-use properties: no more than 2 cubic yards of bulk a month, and no free annual pickup
- Multi-family properties on dumpsters: no free annual pickup
- Extra pickups are charged to the account, and delinquent accounts are not served
02What bulk takes, and the drive inland for the rest
Town bulk accepts yard waste from normal yard and landscape maintenance under six feet long, and materials from minor home or condo repairs. It excludes garbage, contractor waste and exempt waste, and bulk containing refrigerants or other harmful fluids or gases cannot be compacted.
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is not on Broward County's participating lists for the residential drop-off centers or household hazardous waste. The alternative the town names is the Broward County Landfill at 7101 SW 205th Ave. in Southwest Ranches, a Class III landfill that accepts bulk waste, yard trash and construction and demolition debris from Broward County. For chemicals and electronics, residents can use the free regional drop-off events listed by Coconut Creek, with 2026 dates in Lauderdale Lakes, Coconut Creek, Pompano Beach and Tamarac.
So when a renovation leaves contractor waste behind, it needs a private hauler or a long drive west from the beach. That is the part Dany takes off your hands.

03Permits and the six-month debris rule
The Town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Building Division works with CAP Government to receive, review and approve permit applications and plans through online portals. The town publishes a dedicated Demolition Permit form. The Building Department is at 4501 N Ocean Drive, 954-640-4215, and a coastal construction permit may also be required.
One rule matters for cleanup. The town's permit packet quotes Town Code Section 6-12: for exterior repair and renovation, the work must be finished and all construction material, equipment and debris removed from the property within 6 months of the first building permit.
Your general contractor or you as the owner pulls the permit. Rapid Haul does not. Dany's crew does the non-structural tear-out and the haul: carpet and tile up to the slab, kitchens and bathrooms out, drywall cut out, all loaded and gone. Room demo starts at $750 and construction debris hauling at $200.
04Condos, snowbirds and mid-century buildings
The whole town sits on a narrow barrier island between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic, reached by one drawbridge at Commercial Boulevard. Tourism is the main industry, and many older hotels and buildings are mid-century modern. The population nearly doubles in winter. In 2001 the town annexed the Intracoastal Beach Area, including Bel Air and Terra Mar Island.
The 2020 Census counted 6,770 housing units, 46.4% of them vacant, and a median age of 62.7. Census estimates show 78.0% of homes owner-occupied, a median value of $680,900, 1.82 people per household, and 44.9% of residents 65 or older.
That shapes the jobs: clearing a unit before a sale or after a loss in the family, swapping out furniture between seasons, and flooring tear-outs ahead of a renovation. If you are away for the summer, photos are enough for Dany to price the job; you arrange access.
