Junk removal in Pembroke Pines for the hot tubs and cleanouts bulk day skips
Hot tubs, appliances, garage and house cleanouts across Pembroke Pines. Text Dany a photo, get one flat, all-in price, often same-day when you call early.
01What Pembroke Pines bulk pickup takes, and what it leaves behind
Pembroke Pines splits its trash between two companies. Waste Pro picks up household garbage twice a week. Eastern Waste Systems (EWS) handles bulk and yard waste twice a month, on your scheduled bulk day. Bulk and yard waste can share one pile, but it has to be out before 7 a.m. and at least 3 feet from mailboxes, trees, parked cars and overhead wires.
The city caps it at 10 cubic yards per home per pickup. You can ask EWS for up to two extra pickups a year for piles over the limit, and after that it is $15 per cubic yard over.
Then there is what EWS will not take at all: hot tubs and boats (EWS quotes a separate specialized pickup), glass of any kind, hazardous waste, and appliances with Freon unless they are certified purged. A refrigerator also needs its doors and compressor removed. Contractor-generated debris is out too, including tree removals, fencing that needs a permit, and renovations. If it ends up at the curb anyway, EWS may take it for $25 per cubic yard.
Those are the calls Dany gets most from Pembroke Pines: the hot tub nobody uses, the old fridge, and the garage that is far past one pile.
02Tear-outs and permits: read this before a remodel
Permits come from the City of Pembroke Pines Building Department at 601 City Center Way, 2nd floor, (954) 435-6502, with submittals online through the Development Hub. The Engineering Division also issues site permits that cover clearing, demucking, fill and demolition. Your GC or you as the property owner pull them. Rapid Haul does non-structural tear-out only.
Pembroke Pines has a rule most cities don't. The city says it has an exclusive franchise agreement with Waste Pro for collecting all construction and demolition debris, and that hiring third-party haulers is not permitted. Contractors may use roll-off containers they own. So debris from permitted demolition here may have to go through the city's franchise hauler. Dany will tell you plainly what applies to your job before you book. He won't try to work around it.

03Subdivisions, HOAs and condo communities
Pembroke Pines grew out of dairy farms, and a lot of it was built fast in the 1990s after Hurricane Andrew. The area west of I-75 is mostly subdivisions from that period. 69.6% of homes are owner-occupied, with a median value around $439,500 (Census, 2020 to 2024).
That makes for a familiar set of jobs: two-car garages that filled up, backyard hot tubs and sheds past their life, and whole houses cleared before a sale or a move. HOA rules on piles and work hours vary, so mention yours when you text.

Pembroke Pines: common questions
Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.
Will Pembroke Pines bulk pickup take my hot tub?
No. The city lists hot tubs and boats as oversized items EWS won't collect on bulk day; EWS quotes a separate pickup. Rapid Haul removes hot tubs for a flat price after a photo.
How much can I put out on bulk day?
Up to 10 cubic yards per home per pickup, twice a month. You can request two extra pickups a year for bigger piles. After that the city charges $15 per cubic yard over the limit.
Can Rapid Haul take my remodel debris in Pembroke Pines?
The city has an exclusive Waste Pro franchise for construction and demolition debris and says third-party haulers are not permitted. Dany will tell you what applies before booking. Household junk and cleanouts are a different matter.
Can I take bulk to a Broward County drop-off center?
Pembroke Pines is not on the county's list of participating cities for bulk and yard waste. The city runs quarterly residents-only hazardous waste and electronics events at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, 13975 Pembroke Road.
Do you do same-day in Pembroke Pines?
