Debris we load and haul

Every remodel makes a pile. The question is whether it sits in the driveway for two weeks or leaves the same day. Rapid Haul loads construction and renovation debris by hand and hauls it to disposal, for homeowners finishing a project and for the contractors, flippers and remodelers who keep Dany busy.

What the crew picks up:

  • Drywall, plaster and ceiling material
  • Lumber, framing scraps, trim and old doors
  • Tile, mortar, thinset and grout
  • Cabinets, counters, tubs, toilets and vanities already pulled out
  • Roofing debris your roofer leaves behind, haul only
  • Concrete, block, brick and pavers
  • Brush, branches and yard debris from site prep

The debris services under this group

Debris hauling covers a few kinds of jobs, and each has its own page. Site clearing and brush removal is for overgrown lots and yards before a project starts. Recurring jobsite cleanup is for contractors who want pickups on a schedule instead of calling every time. Heavy concrete and masonry debris is on the concrete removal page. If your debris is from a tear-out Rapid Haul did, the hauling is already in that price.

Not sure which one fits? Describe the job when you call. A homeowner with a single pile left from a bathroom remodel needs a one-time pickup. A builder running three houses at once probably wants a standing schedule. A lot that has not been touched in years needs clearing before anyone can work on it. Dany will point you to the right setup and give you one price for it.

Roofing debris: haul only

Rapid Haul does not strip or tear off roofs. When your roofer has already pulled the old shingles, tile, underlayment and flashing, and it is sitting in a pile or on tarps, the crew loads it and hauls it away. Roofing debris is heavy and full of nails, so the crew sweeps the ground around the pile when it is gone.

If your roofing company already includes disposal, you do not need this. It is for the jobs where it does not, or where the pile is bigger than expected.

Tell Dany roughly how many squares came off and whether it is shingle or tile, or just send a photo. Tile roofing is much heavier, and that shows up in the price.

How debris hauling is priced

Construction debris starts at $200. You get one flat, all-in price that covers loading, hauling and disposal. Send Dany a photo of the pile with something for scale, like a door or a person, and tell him where it sits.

Weight drives the price more than size. A pile of drywall and trim is light for its volume. The same pile of tile or concrete is several times heavier and costs more to dispose of. A pile at the curb loads faster than one in a backyard or on the third floor of a condo. Mixed debris is fine; there is no need to sort it for the crew.

Dany confirms when payment is due along with your quote. Jobs of $1,000 and over take a 50% deposit to hold the date.

Debris rules in Broward and Miami-Dade

City bulk pickup in South Florida is built for household items, and most programs have limits on construction and renovation debris. A pile at the curb can sit for days, collect rain and draw a notice from the HOA. Having it hauled privately gets it gone on your schedule.

Condo buildings often want debris moved through the service elevator during set hours and kept out of hallways. Tell Dany the building's rules up front. In summer, wet debris gets heavier and messier, so it pays to get it moved before the afternoon storms.

Why contractors call Dany back

Rosa R., whose family runs a remodeling business, wrote that they have used other companies for trash removal and demolition and Dany is "reliable and always on time and super responsible." Ashton J. noticed the crew "sweeping up every piece of dirt on the job site." On a working site, that means the next trade walks onto a clean floor.

Contractors also like that one person answers the phone. Dany picks up himself, Monday to Saturday from 7 AM to 7 PM, so a pickup gets confirmed in one call instead of a callback.

  2. Crew loading drywall and lumber debris by hand

    Step 2

    Load by hand

Debris is carried, bagged or wheeled to the truck and loaded, with sharp and heavy pieces handled first.

  3. Loaded debris covered and ready to haul

    Step 3

    Haul to disposal

The load goes to a disposal site that accepts construction debris, the same day it is picked up.

  4. Clean driveway after a construction debris pile was hauled away

    Step 4

    Sweep the spot

The ground or floor where the pile sat is swept and checked for nails and sharp pieces.

Debris Hauling: common questions

Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.

How much does construction debris removal cost?

It starts at $200 and depends mostly on weight and access. Text a photo of the pile to (754) 249-1015 for one flat price.

What constitutes construction debris?

Leftovers from building and remodeling: drywall, lumber, tile, roofing material, concrete, block, fixtures and packaging. Rapid Haul takes all of these.

What will you not take?

Rapid Haul hauls construction and household debris. If something might be hazardous, like chemicals or fuel, ask Dany before the pickup so you know where it should go.

Do you tear off roofs?

No. Rapid Haul hauls roofing debris only, after your roofer has removed it.

Can you come today?

Same-day pickup is often possible when you call early. Kristy K. said the crew was "at my home in less than an hour."

Do I need to sort the debris?

No. Mixed piles are fine. Just ask about anything that might be hazardous before the crew arrives.
