01Trash and bulk pickup in Sea Ranch Lakes: what is published
Straight answer: the village does not publish its bulk pickup rules online, at least nowhere we could find. A real-estate article citing the village's 2024 audit says the village contracts with Waste Management, but no official village page confirms it. Bulk limits, the schedule and yard waste rules are not posted.
So before you count on the curb, call the Village office at 1 Gatehouse Road, (954) 943-8862. They can tell you what goes out and when.
One more thing to know: Sea Ranch Lakes is not on Broward County's list of participating towns for the residential drop-off centers. The county drop-off option many Broward residents use is not open to you for bulk or yard waste. When the pile is more than the curb will take, a private haul is usually the simplest answer.
02Renovation tear-outs and village permits
The village runs its own permit process. Under the land development code, the Village Clerk receives inquiries and applications, plans are reviewed by the Village Building Inspector, a Beach Club citizen advisory board comments on design, and the Village Council approves. The Village Clerk then issues the building permit. The village reported 210 permits issued in FY2023-24.
A regional builders' group also lists Broward County Environmental Protection Division approval, including an asbestos form for renovations, as a step before village submittal. Ask the Village Clerk what your project needs.
Your general contractor or you as the owner pulls the permit. Rapid Haul does not. Dany's crew does the non-structural tear-out and the haul: kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and drywall, loaded and taken away. Room demo starts at $750, construction debris hauling at $200, and deck demo at $550.

03Getting the crew through the gate
Most of Sea Ranch Lakes is a gated community. The roads, parks and lakes are private property of the Sea Ranch Beach Club, and the village police can deny non-residents access at the main gate. A truck cannot just show up. Arrange entry for the crew before the day, and tell Dany how it works when you book.
If you live in Sea Ranch Lakes Condominiums, built where the former Sea Ranch Hotel stood, check your building's rules for moving furniture and debris out before the crew arrives.
04A small village where renovation is the work
Sea Ranch Lakes covers about 91.4 acres with 180 feet of beachfront, 210 platted residential lots, a six-acre commercial area and a two-acre oceanfront recreation area. In 2020 it had 540 people in 175 households. The village code describes it as built out in low-density, exclusive homes, with lots along the Intracoastal Waterway and two lakes, and says renovation, expansion and residential redevelopment are the only development activities expected.
That tells you what the jobs look like here: tear-out debris from a remodel, furniture and contents cleared before a renovation or a sale, and garage and storage cleanouts.

05Price and timing from Hollywood
Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood, and Broward is home territory. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea surrounds the village to the north and south, with Fort Lauderdale across the Intracoastal to the west. Call or text (754) 249-1015 with photos and Dany gives you one flat price covering labor, loading, hauling and disposal. Same-day is often possible when you call early, once gate entry is sorted.
Junk jobs are paid after the work. Jobs of $1,000 and over, mostly demolition, take a 50% deposit. Rapid Haul carries $1M general liability insurance. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM.
