Materials we pick up and deliver

Landscape and site materials are heavy, messy and awkward in a car. Supply yards often have a delivery minimum or a long wait, and big box stores may only drop a pallet at the curb. Rapid Haul fills that gap. You pay the supplier for the material; Dany's crew picks it up and puts it where it is going to be used.

Common loads:

  • Mulch, bagged or loaded loose by the supplier
  • Gravel, river rock and decorative stone
  • Sand for pavers, play areas and leveling
  • Topsoil and garden soil
  • Bagged concrete mix and mortar for a small project
  • Pavers and stepping stones

Mulch delivery

Mulch is the most common bulk run. In South Florida it breaks down fast in the heat and rain, so beds need fresh mulch more often than up north. If you have bought a lot of bags at the store, the crew picks them up and stacks them next to the beds, or sets them out along each bed so you are not dragging bags across the lawn. If your supplier loads mulch loose, ask Dany first so he can confirm the load works for the run.

Spreading the mulch is not part of delivery. The crew places it, and your landscaper or you do the spreading.

Gravel and sand delivery

Gravel and sand are the heavy ones. A small pile weighs more than it looks, which is why they are hard on a personal vehicle and why the price depends on the amount. Tell Dany how many bags or how much the supplier is loading, and where on the property it needs to go: a side yard path, under a deck, a driveway edge, a paver base.

If the supplier loads it loose, confirm with Dany first, then plan where it will be dumped before the day. A tarp on the driveway or a spot right next to the work area saves you hours of moving it twice. The crew sets bags or dumps loads where you choose, as close to the work as the access allows.

How bulk delivery is priced

Material delivery starts at $85 for a run. For bulk materials, the flat price depends on weight, the distance from the supplier to your address, how many stops, and how far the crew has to carry or wheel it once it arrives. A few dozen bags of mulch to a front bed is at the low end. Several stops for gravel and sand to a backyard behind a narrow gate costs more.

Send the supplier name, what you are buying, the amount, and a photo of where it should go. You will get one price before the run. You pay the supplier for the material, and Rapid Haul charges only for pickup and delivery.

Projects and timing in Broward and Miami-Dade

Afternoon rain is the main timing issue here. Wet sand and soil are heavier, and bags left in the rain split. Morning runs are easiest. If you are in an HOA community, check whether there are rules about materials stored on the driveway or lawn, and for how long.

Bulk deliveries often pair well with other work. Clearing an overgrown bed before new mulch goes down, or hauling away old rock before new gravel comes in, can be done on the same visit at one flat price.

Before the delivery arrives

A few minutes of prep makes the run quick. Pay for the order ahead of time and make sure it is under a name Dany can give at the counter. Pick the drop spot and clear it: move cars off the part of the driveway you want used, open gates, and mark sprinkler heads or low lights along the carry path.

If the materials are for a landscaper or a paver crew, tell Dany when they start. Delivering the morning of the job, or the evening before, keeps bags from sitting in the rain and keeps the driveway usable. If the project also leaves old rock, dead plants or broken pavers behind, the crew can haul those away on a later trip, priced flat from a photo.

Most bulk runs are in Broward and Miami-Dade. If the supplier you like is a longer drive from your address, mention it, since distance is part of the price.
