Country Club has no city, so the county's bulky rules apply

Country Club is a census-designated place in northwest Miami-Dade, not a city. There is no town hall and no city sanitation crew. Trash and bulky waste are handled by Miami-Dade County's Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM), unless your HOA or condo association contracts its own service, so check with your association first.

If you are on county service, the DSWM bulky waste brochure sets the rules:

  • Two pickups of up to 25 cubic yards each during the calendar year, or one combined pickup of up to 50 cubic yards
  • Book first, online at miamidade.gov/bulkywaste, on the MDC Solid Waste App, the 311Direct app or by calling 311
  • Nothing at the curb more than 3 days before the appointment
  • Since April 1, 2023, early piles can bring anything from a warning notice up to a civil citation
  • Covered: sofas, mattresses enclosed in a plastic bag, large tree limbs and branches, other household trash

Why move-outs here rarely fit the county pickup

The county's allowance is built around a house with a curb. Country Club is mostly not that. Census estimates for 2020 to 2024 count 18,901 housing units, and 33.9% of them are in buildings of 20 or more units. Another 17.8% are townhomes, and only 20.3% are single-family detached houses. In a large condo or apartment building, there is often no curb of your own, and the association decides where bulk goes, if anywhere.

Ownership points the same way. Only 45.7% of homes are owner-occupied, so a lot of the housing is rented. Rentals turn over, and every turnover can mean a unit full of furniture that has to be gone before the new lease starts. Booking a county appointment, waiting for it and then staging the pile within the 3-day window does not fit that schedule.

Dany's crew carries everything out of the unit, down the elevator or stairs, loads it and hauls it the same visit. For landlords and property managers, one photo per unit is usually enough for a flat price. Before the day, ask the building about elevator booking, loading hours and whether it needs a certificate of insurance.

Remodel debris and county permits

Tear-out permits here come from the county, not a city. Miami-Dade's Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) is responsible for buildings in the unincorporated area, and its Permitting and Inspection Center is at 11805 SW 26th Street, Miami. Its permits page lists what is required for demolition of residential and commercial structures. Your general contractor or you as the owner pulls the permit, and in a condo the association will have its own rules on top. Rapid Haul does not pull permits.

Rapid Haul does the non-structural tear-out and the haul: kitchen cabinets, counters, vanities, tile, flooring and drywall. Never anything that holds up the building. Room demo starts at $750, and hauling a pile another crew left starts at $200.

County drop-off is limited for this kind of debris. DSWM's Trash and Recycling Centers serve county waste customers, including unincorporated households, with proof of residency, open daily about 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The county lists a limit of three cubic yards of construction and demolition debris per customer per day; confirm with 311 before loading. The closest listed center is Palm Springs North at 7870 NW 178 St.

A 1961 golf club that became a town of nearly 50,000

The area is named after the Country Club of Miami, established in 1961 in what was then an unpopulated part of the county. It grew fast: 3,408 people in 1990 and 49,967 in the 2020 Census. Miramar sits to the north across the Broward County line, Miami Lakes to the south and unincorporated Palm Springs North to the west, with the Palmetto Expressway along the southern edge. Census estimates put the median year built at 1988.
