Moves that fit our crew

Not every move needs a full moving company with a crew of six and a two-week booking window. A lot of moves are small: a studio or one-bedroom, a few rooms going to a new place, or one heavy piece that needs to get from one address to another without getting scratched. That is where Dany's crew fits.

Careful loading is the whole job

The reviews that mention moving all say the same thing: the crew was careful. Yoel M. hired Dany and his brother for a move and said they "took good care of organizing our stuff in the truck so nothing would get damaged." Carla O. had an "extremely heavy vintage display cabinet" delivered and wrote that it was handled "with great care and professionalism."

That comes from how the truck gets loaded. Heavy, flat pieces go in first and against the wall. Pieces that could rub against each other get separated and protected. Boxes are stacked heaviest on the bottom, and nothing loose rides on top of a table. At the other end, the crew places furniture in the rooms you point to, not in a pile by the door.

How a small move is priced

Every move gets one flat price after Dany sees what is going. Send photos of the larger pieces, a rough count of boxes, both addresses, and notes on stairs, elevators or long walks from the door to the street. The price covers the crew, loading, the drive and unloading.

What moves the price: how much is going, how heavy the biggest pieces are, stairs and elevators at either end, and the distance between the two addresses. A ground-floor apartment to a house nearby is at the low end. A third-floor walk-up with a sofa that has to turn a tight landing takes more time, and the price says so up front.

Jobs of $1,000 and over take a 50% deposit to hold the date, with the balance at the end.

Moving in Hollywood, Broward and Miami-Dade

Hollywood is Dany's home base, and most small moves stay inside Broward and Miami-Dade. Condo and apartment buildings here almost always have move rules: reserved elevators, set move-in and move-out hours, and sometimes a deposit with the association. Ask your building manager for their rules before you book, and send them to Dany so the crew shows up within the window.

Summer heat and afternoon storms affect moving day too. Morning starts keep the crew and your furniture out of the worst of it, and upholstered pieces and mattresses get covered if it starts to rain between the door and the truck.

When a full-service mover is the better call

Dany's crew is built for small moves and heavy single items. If you are moving a large house with full packing, crating and storage, a full-service moving company is likely the better fit, and Dany will say so when you call instead of taking a job that is wrong for his crew.

For everything in between, send photos and both addresses. You will get a straight answer and a flat price, usually the same day, from the person who will actually show up.

What to have ready on moving day

Pack boxes and tape them shut before the crew arrives, and label them by room. Empty drawers on dressers and desks so they do not shift or break in transit. Take apart anything you want taken apart, like bed frames or tables, or tell Dany ahead of time if you need help with it. Keep valuables, documents and medications with you.

If some items are not coming with you, the crew can haul them away on the same visit as a junk removal, priced together. That is often the easiest way to move into a smaller place.
