What Pembroke Park bulk pickup takes, and when it comes

Waste Management collects for the Town of Pembroke Park. Regular trash goes out on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Bulk is a different schedule: it comes six times a year, on the first Wednesday of the scheduled month. For 2026 the town lists January 7, March 4, May 6, July 1, September 2 and November 4.

Each bulk pickup is capped at four cubic yards. It covers furniture, appliances, electronics and other things too big for the cart. It does not include construction debris, and the town names drywall, carpeting and lumber as examples.

So the curb works when your pile is small and the next bulk Wednesday is close. If you are clearing out a whole unit, the pile is bigger than four cubic yards, or the next date is two months away, that is when a call to Dany makes sense. Hauling it yourself: the South Drop-Off Center

Pembroke Park is on Broward County's list of towns whose residents can use the county drop-off centers for bulk and yard waste. The nearest is the South Drop-Off Center at 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd. in West Park. The county rules:

• Open Saturdays only, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Proof of residency is required
• Up to four visits a month
• No vehicles larger than a 1-ton pickup, and no trailers longer than 8 feet

Tear-outs and permits in Pembroke Park

The Town of Pembroke Park Building Department, at 3150 SW 52 Avenue (954-966-4600), issues permits here. The town's FAQ says you need a building permit to remove or demolish any building or any part of a structure, and contractors must register with the town before they can get one.

Rapid Haul does not pull permits. Your general contractor, or you as the owner, takes care of that. What Dany's crew does is the non-structural tear-out and the haul: old carpet pulled up, damaged drywall cut out, cabinets and fixtures removed, everything loaded and taken to disposal. Room demo starts at $750 and construction debris hauling starts at $200.

Because town bulk refuses drywall, carpet and lumber, this is the part of a remodel where most people here end up needing a hauler anyway. If you would rather do the tear-out yourself, Dany can just haul the pile.

Mobile homes, rentals and small lots

Pembroke Park is small, about 1.4 square miles, with 2,477 households. Almost half of its residents live in mobile homes. About a third of homes are owner-occupied (32.0% in the Census estimate), and the median value of owner-occupied homes is $105,300.

That mix shapes the work. Renters moving out leave furniture and mattresses behind. Owners turning over a unit need worn carpet and paneling gone before new tenants arrive. Carports and sheds fill up over the years and need clearing before a sale.

Taking out a whole mobile home or any part of a structure needs a town permit pulled by a registered contractor, so that piece belongs to your GC. Emptying it first, and hauling away the interior debris, is where Dany fits. Businesses in town can call for commercial junk removal too.
