No judgment, no audience

Whoever is calling, the person who lives there, an adult child, a landlord or a case worker, it is usually not an easy call to make. Dany has seen full homes before. He will not lecture anyone, take photos for social media, or talk about the job with the neighbors.

We keep it low-key. The crew works steadily, keeps voices down and does not comment on what is in the house. If the person who lives there wants to be part of it, deciding item by item, we go at their pace. If the family would rather handle it while they are away, we do that too.

What Rapid Haul does on a hoarding job

Our job is removal. We carry out belongings, furniture, boxes, bags, papers and general debris, load it, and haul it to disposal. Room by room, we open up walkways, then clear surfaces, then empty the rooms down to the floor.

What we are not: a cleaning, remediation or specialty restoration company. We do not scrub, deodorize, treat for pests, remove mold or handle hazardous waste. If the home needs that kind of work, a specialist company should handle it, either before us or after we have cleared the space. Dany will be straight with you on the first call if what he sees in your photos is beyond a hauling job.

Keeping what matters

In a home this full, important things are mixed in with everything else. Cash, jewelry, IDs, bank papers, medication, photos. The crew watches for them and sets them aside in one box or one room for the family to go through. Nothing that looks personal or valuable goes straight to the truck.

If there are specific things you are looking for, like a will, a title or a particular photo album, tell Dany before we start and the crew will keep an eye out.

How Dany prices a hoarding cleanout

Every one of these jobs is different, so there is no single starting price. Text Dany photos of each room, or he can come out for a quick look. He gives you one flat price that covers the crew, loading, hauling and disposal. You will not get an hourly bill that grows as the day goes on.

The price depends on how many rooms, how high things are stacked, how much is heavy, and how much sorting the family wants during the job. Sorting item by item takes longer than a straight clear-out, and Dany will price it that way so nobody feels rushed. Payment is after the job. If the price is $1,000 or more, Dany may ask for a 50% deposit and will tell you with the quote.

Apartments, condos and rentals

Many of these jobs are in condo buildings or rentals in Broward and Miami-Dade, sometimes with a deadline from a landlord or an association. If there is a notice with a date on it, send it to Dany so he can plan around it.

Buildings often want elevator time booked and proof of insurance. Rapid Haul carries $1M general liability insurance. We load directly from the unit to the truck, so the hallway is not lined with bags for the neighbors to see.

After the rooms are clear

When the crew leaves, the rooms are empty down to the floor, swept, and you have one box of set-aside papers and keepsakes to go through on your own time. That is often when the next step becomes possible: repairs, a cleaning company, a move, or simply living in the space again.

Some families do it in stages, one or two rooms at a time over a few weeks, because that is what the person can handle. That works. Each visit gets its own flat price, and Dany is a text away when you are ready for the next room. He answers the phone himself, Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM.
