Who collects in Hypoluxo, and what the town has not published

The Town of Hypoluxo's FAQ answers the first question plainly: Waste Management provides pickup and disposal of trash, recycling and vegetation, and the Solid Waste Authority provides recycling. What we could not find on an official page is the bulk side: how often furniture and appliances go, how much you can put out, and what is refused. Call Town Hall at (561) 582-0155 before you set big items at the curb.

One thing the town has said: after a 2024 storm, its notice asked residents not to put bulk material on top of storm drains because of flooding. If you are clearing a unit and the curb is not an option, or the HOA does not want piles sitting out, a hauler takes it straight from the room to the truck.

Tear-outs in Hypoluxo: in-person permits and association approval

Permits run through the Town of Hypoluxo Building and Zoning department, which the town contracts to an outside firm, Hy-Byrd Incorporated. The town's page says the Building Official is available by appointment in the Hypoluxo office, that permit submittal is in person, and that all contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Town. It also asks that the association or civic association be contacted for their approval requirements.

So a condo or townhome remodel here starts with two sign-offs: the permit, pulled by your GC or by you as the owner, and your association's approval. Rapid Haul does not pull permits. Dany does the non-structural tear-out (carpet and tile down to the slab, cabinets, vanities, drywall) and hauls it out. Never anything that holds up the building. Tell him your association's rules when you call, and he will tell you what applies before anything is booked.

Most Hypoluxo homes share walls or elevators

Hypoluxo sits on the mainland shore of the Lake Worth Lagoon and does not include Hypoluxo Island. Census estimates count about 2,152 homes, and fewer than 1 in 10 is a detached house. About a quarter are townhomes, and almost a third are in buildings of 20 or more units. The median home was built around 1990. It is an older town by age, too: median age 54.6 in 2020, with 29.3% of residents 65 or older.

That is where the work comes from: condo and townhome cleanouts when someone downsizes or a unit is sold, estate cleanouts for families settling a parent's home, old flooring and kitchens coming out before a renovation, and a single sofa or mattress that will not fit in the elevator in one piece. Furniture removal starts at $125, appliances at $100, house cleanouts at $1,000 and room tear-outs at $750.

Hypoluxo's neighbors are Lantana, Boynton Beach, Manalapan and San Castle, so a job here often sits close to work in those towns. If you have a second load at a relative's place nearby, mention it; bundling jobs can make the drive worth it.

Price and timing for Hypoluxo

Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood and works mostly in Broward and Miami-Dade. Hypoluxo is by request, when the job is worth the drive, so there is no same-day promise. Text photos to (754) 249-1015 with the building name and any move-out or elevator booking window, and Dany will answer himself.

The price is one flat number for labor, loading, hauling and disposal. Junk removal is paid after the job, and jobs of $1,000 and over take a 50% deposit. If you would rather haul a small load yourself, the SWA Central County Transfer Station and the Home Chemical & Recycling Center share 1810 Lantana Road; the transfer station weighs vehicles for tipping fees and closes at noon on Saturdays.
