01What Wellington's weekly bulk day takes
Wellington's trash is collected by a private hauler under a Village contract. The Village says FCC Environmental Services became its solid waste hauler on December 30, 2021, under a 10-year contract covering about 25,000 households. Garbage goes twice a week in the gray container, cans no heavier than 50 lbs. Bulk is one day a week, and it may go in front of your home 24 hours before collection.
The Village's bulk page lists what it accepts and how to set it out:
- Refrigerators, ranges, washers and dryers, water heaters, toilets, sofas and mattresses
- Carpet cut into 4 ft lengths and no more than 50 pounds
- Wood cut shorter than 6 feet with nails removed
- Appliance doors removed or taped; broken glass and mirrors bagged
- Up to 4 cubic yards of debris from minor home repairs on bulk day, no concrete or rock
- If you live in an HOA, check its bulk pickup guidelines too
02Remodel and demolition debris needs a permitted hauler
Wellington's two solid waste pages do not agree on how much repair debris goes at the curb. The bulk page says up to 4 cubic yards per bulk day. The construction and demolition page says collection is limited to 2 cubic yards of debris a week and that fencing and pallets will not be collected. Either way, real remodel debris is out of the curbside program.
The Village's construction and demolition page is direct: construction and demolition debris is not included in curbside residential service, and residents with a demolition or construction project should lease a roll-off container from a hauler permitted in Wellington. Debris dumped on vacant parcels or canal banks may be referred to the Sheriff.
So debris from permitted demolition in Wellington may have to go through a hauler the Village has permitted. Rapid Haul does not claim that permit and does not rent containers. Send Dany photos of your job and he will tell you plainly what applies before anything is booked.
Permits come from the Village of Wellington Building Division at 12300 Forest Hill Boulevard (561-753-2430), Monday to Friday 7 AM to 4 PM, processed electronically through ProjectDox. Its demolition packet asks for demolition plans, a current survey, an asbestos notification form and a scope of work with total replacement value. Your general contractor or you as the owner pulls the permit; Rapid Haul does not pull permits and never touches anything that holds up a building.

03Fences, sheds and equestrian properties
Wellington grew out of C. Oliver Wellington's Flying Cow Ranch, and a 1972 planned development brought the International Polo Club Palm Beach and the Aero Club airpark neighborhood. The village incorporated on December 31, 1995, calls itself The Winter Equestrian Capital of the World, and hosts the Winter Equestrian Festival from January to April. Its building forms even include a Stable and Manure Bin Packet and an Agricultural Verification Packet.
On these properties, the Village's vegetation rules matter. Yard waste must be containerized, and the hauler refuses limbs over 10 inches in diameter, pieces over 6 feet or 50 lbs, and material from a commercial company. Sod, dirt, landscaping rocks and pallets are not vegetation at all. Non-compliant piles are tagged, and residents can pay the hauler $9.00 per cubic yard to remove them as is.
That is where Rapid Haul comes in on the jobs it does: old wood fence removal (removal only, never installation), metal and wood shed removal from $350, old wood decks from $550, and clearing out barns, sheds and garages of junk, furniture and appliances. Whether a given fence or shed counts as construction debris under the Village rules above is part of what Dany checks before he books.
04HOA neighborhoods and household cleanouts
The 2020 Census counted 61,637 residents, 24,002 housing units and 21,638 households, 38.6% of them with children. The Village's own solid waste pages tell residents in an HOA, more than once, to check the association's bulk rules. That shapes cleanouts here: a garage packed after years of family life, a playroom cleared before a move, or a house emptied for a sale, often under HOA rules about how long anything can sit in front of the house.
A crew that carries it out and hauls it the same visit keeps you clear of both the 24-hour set-out window and the HOA. Garage cleanouts start at $300 and full house cleanouts at $1,000.

How much repair debris will Wellington take at the curb?
The Village's bulk page says up to 4 cubic yards of minor-repair debris on bulk day, with no concrete or rock. Its construction and demolition page says 2 cubic yards a week. Construction and demolition debris is not part of curbside service.

Will the Village pick up my old fence?
