Furniture removal in Fort Lauderdale, from high-rise units to the back bedroom
Furniture removal in Fort Lauderdale from $125. Couches, mattresses, dressers and dining sets carried out of any room or building and hauled away.
01If you live in a Fort Lauderdale condo or apartment
Here is the part most renters and condo owners do not know. The City of Fort Lauderdale's bulk pickup is for houses on city service. The city says apartments, condos and commercial properties must contract directly with their own hauler. That hauler empties the building's dumpsters. It does not come up to the 14th floor for your sectional.
So in a building, an old sofa is your problem: you drag it down yourself, or you call someone who carries it out. Leaving it in the trash room just hands it to the building staff. Dany's crew comes up the service elevator, pads what needs padding, takes the piece apart if it will not fit, and leaves nothing behind for the staff.
Downtown around Las Olas Boulevard is high-rise condos and new hotels, and those buildings tend to have move rules. Book the elevator, check the hours, and tell Dany when you text. If the front desk asks for proof of insurance, Rapid Haul carries $1M general liability.
02Houses on the city's monthly bulk route
If your house is on city service, WM takes bulk once a month on your service day. Furniture has to be at the curb by 7 a.m. that day, cannot go out more than 24 hours early and cannot stay out more than 24 hours after pickup, or the city may cite you.
That is fine when you know a month ahead. It is not fine when the new bedroom set arrives Thursday and pickup is three weeks out, or when a summer storm soaks a mattress waiting on the swale. Rapid Haul carries the old piece out of the room and off the property, and the new one goes straight in.

03Glass tops, mirrors and pieces that come apart
Fort Lauderdale wants loose glass in a sturdy, rigid container before it goes to the curb, which is awkward for a glass dining table, a curio cabinet or a dresser mirror. The crew handles those as they are and loads them so nothing breaks in your hallway.
Big pieces that came in assembled usually go out the same way. Ones that were built in the room, like some platform beds, wall units and sleeper sofas in tight stairwells, get taken apart and carried out in sections. Send a photo of the piece and the path out so the price already includes it.
04Furniture Dany picks up most
Calls in Fort Lauderdale come from tenants moving out, owners redoing a unit, families clearing a parent's place and landlords after a turnover. The list is usually some mix of:
- Sofas, sectionals, sleeper sofas and recliners
- Mattresses, box springs, bed frames and headboards
- Dressers, armoires, nightstands and wardrobes
- Dining tables, chairs, desks and bookcases
- Patio sets and lounge chairs from a balcony or pool deck

05What furniture removal costs in Fort Lauderdale
Furniture removal starts at $125 for a single piece from an easy spot. More pieces, heavier pieces and harder carries cost more: a recliner from a ground-floor living room is quick, a solid wood armoire from a walk-up is not. Add the boxes, the old TV and the fridge to the same photo and Dany prices it all as one flat number, covering labor, loading, hauling and disposal.
You pay after the job. Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood, just south of the city line, so same-day is often possible when you call early. Text (754) 249-1015, Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM. Dany reads it and answers himself.

How a furniture removal job runs in Fort Lauderdale
Step 1
Check the piece and the path
The crew looks at what is going and the route out: doors, stairs, turns and elevator.
Step 2
Take apart if needed and carry
Legs, cushions and sections come off when that makes the carry safer. Then we carry it out without dragging it across your floors.
Step 3
Load and haul away
The furniture goes on the truck and to proper disposal. That is included in your flat price.
Step 4
Sweep the spot
We sweep where the furniture stood, since there is always dust and lost change under a couch. Then you pay.
Fort Lauderdale: common questions
Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.
Does Fort Lauderdale pick up furniture from condos?
Not through city bulk. The city says condos and apartments contract directly with their own hauler, which usually empties the building's dumpsters only. Rapid Haul carries the furniture out of your unit.
When can I put a couch at the curb in Fort Lauderdale?
On houses with city service, bulk goes once a month. Set it out by 7 a.m. on your day, not more than 24 hours early, and do not leave it more than 24 hours after pickup.
How much does it cost to get rid of a couch in Fort Lauderdale?
Furniture removal starts at $125. A heavy sleeper sofa or a long carry costs more. Text a photo and the route out for one flat price.
Do you take glass tables and mirrors?
Yes. You don't need to box the glass the way the city curb requires. The crew loads it carefully as part of the price.
Can I take old furniture to a Broward County drop-off center?
Not as a Fort Lauderdale resident. The city is not on Broward County's list of participating cities for the county's bulk and yard drop-off centers. Your options are the monthly pile on a house with city service, or a hauler.
