Waste Management is the exclusive provider of solid waste, yard waste and recycling collection in the City of Palm Beach Gardens, and the city oversees roughly 28,000 residential and commercial customers. For pickup days, call WM at 561-471-6110.

Bulk waste, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, toilets and sinks, is picked up once a week. The city is blunt about appliance doors: take them off, it's the law. Large yard waste piles are collected once a week too, with branches, limbs and palm fronds tied and bundled. Each 45-gallon can or tied bag should stay under 50 pounds.

Timing is the other rule. Nothing goes out earlier than noon the day before collection, and it must be curbside by 7 a.m. There is no collection on Thanksgiving or Christmas.

What WM leaves, and where it has to go

The city says not to put out paint cans, pesticides, pool chemicals, engine oil, tires, auto parts, or construction and demolition debris. For those, it sends you to the Solid Waste Authority at 561-640-4000 or 7501 N. Jog Road.

The nearest SWA facility by address is the North County Transfer Station and Home Chemical & Recycling Center, 14185 N Military Trail in Jupiter. Loads at SWA transfer stations are weighed for tipping fees. Household hazardous waste drop-off is free for county residents, with no curbside collection.

So the city's bulk day works for one old washer. It does not work for a garage full of years of stuff, a pile too big to set out between noon and morning, or remodel debris. That is what Dany hauls.

Tear-outs and the City's demolition checklist

Permits come from the City of Palm Beach Gardens Building Division, 10500 N Military Trail, which uses the Universal County-Wide/Municipal Building Permit Application and an online permit system. The Residential Demo checklist calls for digitally signed and sealed demolition plans, with Building Structural and Development Compliance review. A Notice of Commencement is required for projects valued over $5,000, and an HOA approval letter is required when the plan reviewer specifies it.

The GC or the property owner pulls the permit. Rapid Haul does not. Dany does the non-structural tear-out (kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, drywall) and hauls it all away. He does not remove anything that holds the house up.

Get your HOA's sign-off early in a gated or golf community. It can hold up the permit and, with it, the start date.

Palm Beach Gardens began as John D. MacArthur's planned garden city, incorporated in 1959, and it calls itself the Golf Capital of the World. Census figures show 73.0% owner-occupancy, a median owner-occupied home of $606,100 and 32.5% of residents aged 65 and over.

How Palm Beach Gardens jobs are scheduled from Hollywood

Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood. Broward and Miami-Dade are the main service area, and Palm Beach County is by request, when the job is worth the drive. A full garage, a house cleanout or a remodel haul usually is. Dany does not promise same-day here; he gives you a date with the price.
