Trash and bulk in Juno Beach: what is published

Juno Beach contracts its trash collection with WM (Waste Management). The Solid Waste Authority's municipal list sends residents to the Town Center (561-626-1122) or WM (800-824-8472) with questions.

Here is the honest part: the Town's website does not publish its bulk pickup rules. There is no solid-waste page with a bulk day, a size limit or a list of excluded items, and the Town Code's collection section could not be loaded. Before you put anything big at the curb, call WM or the Town Center and ask.

If you do not want to wait on an answer, or the pile is tear-out debris, send Dany a photo instead. Rapid Haul loads it, hauls it and handles disposal, so you are not guessing about what WM will leave behind.

The WM roll-off rule for construction sites

Juno Beach has one rule worth knowing before any renovation. The Town says it is contracted with WM and only permits the use of WM roll-offs for construction sites. Code Compliance is at 561-627-0818. A third-party dumpster on your driveway is not an option here.

Rapid Haul does not leave a container. It loads debris and takes it away the same visit. Whether a haul-away fits your permitted job, or whether the Town expects a WM roll-off, is something Dany will check with you before booking. He will not quote around a Town rule.

Demolition permits under Ordinance 781

The Town of Juno Beach Building Department at Town Center, 340 Ocean Drive (561-626-1122), handles all permitting in the Town through MGO Connect, and contractors must register on MGO before applying. Ordinance No. 781, adopted January 24, 2024, added demolition permit rules: native vegetation preserved on site as far as practicable; an erosion control plan, parking plan, construction screening plan and truck logistics plan with the application; an owner's affidavit that owners within 300 feet were notified 30 days ahead; and, if construction does not start within 30 days of demolition, sod and irrigation within ten business days.

Demolition release forms from the utilities (FPL, Florida Public Utilities, Seacoast Utilities, Loxahatchee River District, Jupiter Utilities and others) are posted by the Town. Work is allowed Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with no construction on Sundays or legal holidays.

The GC or the property owner pulls the permit. Rapid Haul does not. Rapid Haul's part is non-structural tear-out, like flooring, carpet, cabinets and bathrooms, and the haul, inside those hours. Room demo starts at $750, with a 50% deposit on jobs of $1,000 and over.

Oceanfront estates, 1960s condos and seasonal units

The Town describes itself as a predominantly residential seaside community of oceanfront estates, condominiums and businesses. Modern development began in 1948 near the Seminole Golf Club, condominiums grew in the 1960s, and The Waterford life care community and FPL's offices arrived in the 1980s. Juno Beach has one of the densest sea turtle nesting areas in the world, which is why the Loggerhead Marinelife Center was founded in Loggerhead Park in 1983.

In 2020 the town had about 3,200 housing units, and 37.4% were vacant, with a rental vacancy rate of 20.9%. That is a lot of empty units at census time. That is where seasonal cleanouts, furniture swaps from $125 and condo flooring tear-outs come in. Condo buildings may have their own rules on top of the Town's, so send those with your photos.

Booking from Hollywood: by request

Rapid Haul works out of Hollywood, with Broward and Miami-Dade as the main area. Palm Beach County is by request, when the job is worth the drive. Text photos to (754) 249-1015 and Dany will tell you if and when he can do it. When he takes it, you get one flat price that covers labor, loading, hauling and disposal, paid after the job for junk removal.

To self-haul, the SWA North County Transfer Station is at 14185 N Military Trail in Jupiter, and loads are weighed for tipping fees. SWA's Home Chemical and Recycling Centers are for households only, not businesses.

Juno Beach: common questions

Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.

What are the bulk pickup rules in Juno Beach?

The Town's website does not publish them. Call WM at 800-824-8472 or Town Center at 561-626-1122 before putting large items out.

Can I use any dumpster company for my Juno Beach renovation?

No. The Town only permits WM roll-offs at construction sites. Rapid Haul hauls debris away instead of leaving a container; ask Dany what fits your job.

What does a demolition permit in Juno Beach require?

Under Ordinance 781: erosion, parking, screening and truck logistics plans, a 300-foot neighbor notice affidavit, and sod and irrigation if building does not start within 30 days.

Do you come to Juno Beach the same day?

Palm Beach County is by request, so Dany sets a date with you once he has seen photos. He will be straight with you about timing.
