What Davie's monthly bulk will take from a remodel

Davie's bulk rules make room for some tear-out debris, with conditions. Coastal Waste & Recycling has handled the Town's collection since June 1, 2021. Bulk comes once a month, anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on your date, and the Town says bulk should not exceed 15 cubic yards. You can set it out from the Sunday before.

The Town does accept tile, rock and roofing materials, but they "must be placed in a hard bottom container of sufficient strength for collection." Mirrors and glass have to be in a rigid container and taped. A gutted bathroom is mostly tile, mortar and a glass shower door, so that means finding containers strong enough for heavy rubble and keeping them on your driveway until bulk day. Anything over the limit is billed per yard plus a franchise fee.

Permits through the Town of Davie Building Division

Davie runs its own Building Division at 8800 SW 36th Street, Building A, phone 954-797-1111. Permits are submitted through the Town's Online Application Submittal (OAS), also called ProjectDox, and you can look up permits on the Town's eSuite portal.

The Town publishes a Demolition Checklist. For a full-structure demolition, it lists items such as asbestos notification to Broward County and utility disconnect letters. Interior tear-out is a smaller job, but your general contractor or you as the property owner still decide what the remodel needs and pull the permit. Rapid Haul does not pull permits, and the crew does non-structural tear-out only: never anything that holds up the house.

HOA and condo communities are part of Davie too, and the Town notes that HOA and COA residents may have different bulk rules, so check yours before any debris goes outside.

Room demo price in Davie

Room demo starts at $750. Dany prices it from photos of each wall, the floor and the path to the driveway, and the number is flat: labor, tear-out, carrying, hauling and disposal. Tile on a mortar bed, stacked flooring layers and a long carry raise it. A fiberglass surround and an easy exit lower it.

Jobs of $1,000 and over, which covers most full kitchens, take a 50% deposit to lock the date. If your own crew did the demo and just needs the pile gone, construction debris pickups start at $200, and same-day is often possible when you call early.
