Junk removal in Highland Beach, for A1A condos working on the town's clock
Condo cleanouts, furniture pickup and non-structural interior tear-out in Highland Beach, by request when the job is worth the drive. Text Dany photos for one price.
01What the town's bulk pickup takes, for houses and for condos
Highland Beach contracts its collection to Waste Management, which picks up garbage twice a week from single-family homes and condos. The town's Public Works Department is your contact for bulk: email it or call 561-243-2084 to identify what should be collected before you put anything out.
The rules differ by building type:
- Houses: bulk such as furniture, appliances, cabinets, water heaters and fixtures is collected Monday, 7 am to 5 pm
- No single bulk item can be longer than 6 feet, including carpet, piping, rugs and padding
- Single-family garbage has a 50-pound limit on any single item or container
- Condos and multi-family: bulk is placed next to the building's rear load or front load containers
- Trash goes near the A1A pavement edge, not before noon the day before pickup
- Landscapers may not pile fronds or trash on any public street
02When a hauler makes sense in a Highland Beach condo
The town's bulk program is built for a few items at a time, called in ahead. Clearing a whole unit is a different job: a full set of furniture, a mattress or two, closets and a storage locker, all coming down the elevator. Pieces longer than 6 feet, a heavy sleeper sofa, or anything that will not fit next to the building's containers are where most owners call a hauler.
Dany's crew carries everything out of the unit, loads it and hauls it in one visit. Before booking, check with your association about elevator reservations, padding, loading times and whether it wants a certificate of insurance. Rapid Haul carries $1M general liability.

03Interior tear-outs under the town's construction rules
Every building permit in Highland Beach carries the town's Construction Site Management Handbook as a condition, and it is strict. Permitted demolition, alteration or repair is not allowed on weekdays before 8:00 am or after 6:00 pm, on Saturdays before 9:00 am or after 3:00 pm, or on Sundays and six named holidays. Workers cannot arrive more than half an hour early. On Saturdays, placing or removing dumpsters is prohibited, and so are jack-hammers and dump trucks.
Debris cannot sit, either. Construction debris not in a dumpster must be removed from the site within 48 hours, dumpsters must be emptied within 48 hours, and trash piles outside a dumpster within 24 hours. On-street parking is prohibited, so the truck has to park on the property or at an approved spot. A crew that tears out and loads straight onto its own truck the same day fits these rules well.
Permits come from the Town of Highland Beach Building Department at 3616 S Ocean Boulevard (561-278-4540), with every submittal online through MyGovernmentOnline. The town posts a demolition checklist for tearing down structures, and its general permit checklist requires subcontractors who do not pull their own permits to be registered with the town in their trade. Your general contractor or you as the owner pulls the permit; ask your GC how the registration applies to tear-out help. Dany will tell you plainly what applies before anything is booked.
Rapid Haul does non-structural tear-out only: cabinets, counters, vanities, tile, flooring and drywall. Never anything that holds up the building, and no permits pulled by Rapid Haul.
04Dany's condo demo tagged Highland Beach
In August 2026, Dany posted a condo interior demo tagged Highland Beach on Instagram. In his own words from the video: "I'm doing a 2,200 square foot condo demo, got a demo three bathrooms, one kitchen." That is the kind of job that comes up in a town where condo buildings went up on both sides of A1A starting in the late 1970s.

05An older, seasonal town between the ocean and the Intracoastal
Highland Beach incorporated in 1949 and sits on the barrier island with the Atlantic to the east, the Intracoastal Waterway to the west and Delray Beach to the north. A1A runs through the whole town. Highland Towers, built in 1958, was one of the first high-rises, and Bel Lido is one of its named neighborhoods.
The 2020 Census counted 4,295 residents and 4,338 housing units, 43.7% vacant, which fits a town of seasonal owners. The median age was 69.8. With so many owners away part of the year, a cleanout may need to happen while nobody is there. Photos from you or your building manager are usually enough for Dany to price it, and the crew can work with whoever lets them in.
